The Inogen One G3 is great for those who want the same great battery life of the Inogen One G2, but who need less than a pulse dose setting of 5.

If you are wondering how these things work, here is a collection of the most frequently asked questions and their answers. It’s very helpful to know all about the accessories and their ins and outs before buying a portable oxygen concentrator. This will hopefully help you make your decision on what oxygen concentrator you would like to buy.

Q. Should I get the 8 cell or the 16 cell battery, and will I be able to buy a different one later if I want to?

A. Of course, you can always switch back and forth between an 8 cell battery and a 16 cell battery, whichever one will better suit your needs at any time. Because some people like to do this, we offer an Inogen One G3 package that comes with one 8 cell battery and one 16 cell battery. We also have a package that includes two 16 cell batteries or two 8 cell batteries, if you decide that you would like that instead of the standard Inogen One G3 starter package with just one battery.

The G3 16 cell battery is 2x larger that the 8 cell battery. The 16 cell weighs 4 lbs and the 8 cell weighs 3 pounds. If you need more time to stay 100% mobile, you should definitely get the 16 cell battery, which will give you up to 8 hours of battery life at the lowest setting. If you use a higher setting, the battery duration will naturally be less. The 8 cell battery will provide 4 hours on the setting of 1 and less for higher settings.

Q. What kind of maintenance will I need to perform on the Inogen One G3 and how often?

A. You will need to replace the G3 gross particle filter every 3 to 5 months, depending on how often you use it. Replace it in 3 months if you use your concentrator 24/7, and every 5 months if you use it for 8 hours a day or less. Clean the gross particle filter every 2 weeks to get rid of the dirt and debris it has caught before it entered the concentrator. Use mild detergent and water, and be sure to let it dry completely before using it again. Once a year, your Inogen One G3 should be checked over by a professional, and this is when they will change the output filter. With the minimum maintenance this requires, your Inogen One G3 will run smoothly for many years to come.
