Activities and Attractions to do in Houston

  • The Beer Can House in Houston is one of America’s most iconic folk art sites. Everything out here is made from beer cans and the aluminum from these cans- from curtains to statues to fences; almost everything, thereby giving it the name.
  • There’s lots of history to the Houston Astrodome. It had housed dozens of important concerts and games; along with the Astroworld. It has been one of the most favorite entertainment spots in the city.
  • Take a tour of the six-mile long maze of Downtown Tunnels which connects many of Houston’s downtown buildings. You can find dozens of shops and restaurants; get a haircut or a massage or eat or buy something fancy.
  • The Galleria is a classy shopping experience with around 400 shops, with top international brands, extended out over several levels; window-shop across this place. Stop by for some lip-smacking delicacies at the dozens of restaurants or watch the amateurs trying to navigate through the ice skating rink.
  • James Turrell’s Twilight Epiphany at the Rice University is the next thing to see. It hosts two free light shows every day. Tranquil and meditative, Twilight Epiphany is one of the best public arts in Houston.
  • The Market Square Park has a lot of stuff packed into a small space, including a variety of activities. There’s an adjacent dog park, restaurants, a full schedule of events and the entire place is surrounded by some of Houston’s oldest buildings.
  • The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is ringed by busy freeways and shopping malls. This place offers educational tours with some semi-chic evening events all year round. Wandering through the Center’s lush green lawns and woods is a thing to contemplate.
  • If you are short on time, visit the Menil Collection. It’s an oasis with a museum bearing an expansive lawn surrounded by beautiful bungalows and giant old trees. Tour of the Menial Collection comes for free!
  • Visit NASA, the pride of Huston, which made Huston an Astro-city. Marvel at the historic artifacts of extra-terrestrial adventures and tragedies of the country which are preserved at the Space Center Houston.
